New To Yoga?

Here's a checklist with everything you need to know before attending your first class.

  • Please show up early for class with a yoga mat, towel, and a large bottle of water. Any of these items are available for rent or purchase at the studio.
  • Come well-hydrated and avoid large meals 2-3 hours before class.
  • Try not to drink too much water during class. Some classes involve poses (twists, inversions, forward bends) that can be uncomfortable to perform on a stomach full of water. It is better to fully hydrate before and after class.
  • No cell phones, purses, or large bags in the yoga room.
  • Please remove shoes prior to entering the yoga room.
  • We recommend wearing light, snug-fitting clothing (nylon, lycra, or spandex).
  • If you need to take a break, try to stay in the room on your mat. If you have to step out during class, please do so quietly. We also understand that lateness happens. If you enter the yoga room after class has started, please enter and settle in quietly.
  • Listen to your body! We want you to feel challenged without feeling pain. We encourage you to work with your body to make gradual progress.
